Dr. Karim Shamshudin

Managing Director

Dr. Karim Shamshudin is a veterinary surgeon with over 30 years’ experience in animal health and nutrition in East Africa. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from The University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in Medical Parasitology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (University of London).

Dr. Karim founded Vetcare Africa over 25 years ago. He has dedicated his career to promoting access to high quality, safe and effective animal health solutions to animals throughout Africa. He remains committed to enabling farmers to maintain the highest international standards both in animal welfare and production capacity. Dr. Karim is also an active member of the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB), and the Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) where he has previously held seats on both boards.

Dr. Joyce D’Souza-Shamshudin

Technical Director

Dr. Joyce D’Souza Shamshudin is the Technical Director at Vetcare Africa. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience with over 30 years of experience as a practicing veterinary surgeon in Kenya. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from The University of Nairobi.

Dr. Joyce is passionate about animal welfare standards and ensuring all animals have access to professional veterinary expertise. In her role as Technical Director, she is responsible for promoting better animal farming practices and disseminating knowledge on sustainable high yield farming.

Hudson Konji

General Manager (Sales and Marketing)

Hudson Konji is the General Manager at Vetcare Africa – a role he has held for over 20 years. In his role as General Manager, he is responsible for overseeing daily businesss activities, managing budgets, and communicating business goals. Hudson also leads the sales team as head of Sales. In this role, he is overall responsible for coordinating, planning and executing the company’s sales and marketing strategy. Leading a team of over 10 field sales staff, he has been an integral part of Vetcare Africa’s growth over the years.

Hudson is a Diploma holder from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), UK, in Sales and Marketing.

Millicent D’Huongo

Logistics Manager

Millicent D’Huongo is the Logistics Manager at Vetcare Africa, a role which sees her responsible for several areas including administration, procurement and logistics. She has been a part of the Vetcare family for over 23 years.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management and a Master’s degree in Operations Management both from the University of Nairobi. In addition to her degrees, Millicent is a holder of professional diplomas from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain (CIPS) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).

Alex Kasyoka

Financial Controller

Alex Kasyoka is the Financial Controller at Vetcare Africa. With over 9 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Alex has a wealth of experience in cashflow management, debt management and company compliance. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

In his role as Financial Controller, Alex is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, integrating finance operations, forecasting and budgeting, handling tax matters and preparing financial reports.

Dr. Paul Kisia

Quality Assurance Manager

Dr. Paul Chahia Kisia is the Quality Assurance Manager at Vetcare Africa. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience with over 20 years of experience as a practicing Pharmacist in various fields of Pharmaceuticals in Kenya. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from The University of Nairobi.

Dr. Kisia is passionate about pharmaceutical substances and services standards and ensuring all humans and animals have access to professional pharmaceutical expertise. In his role as QA Manager, he is responsible for promoting cGMP and the production and distribution of good quality medicine and veterinary supplements for better animal farming practices and sustainable high yield farming.

Seth Juma

Production Manager (Pharmaceuticals)

Seth Juma is the Production Manager in our pharmaceutical plant. Seth joined Vetcare Africa in 2016 having previously worked with various pharmaceutical industries around Kenya. Seth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Maasai Mara University.

In his role as Production Manager, Seth is responsible for the planning, coordination and control of all manufacturing processes in the pharmaceutical plant. Seth is a highly motivated and proud member of the Vetcare family.

Festus Ileve

Production Manager (Minerals)

Festus Ileve is the Production Manager responsible for production in our minerals plant, a role he has held for the last 12 years. In his role as Production Manager, he is responsible for production planning, product formulation and maintaining quality standards. Festus holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from The University of Nairobi.

Festus is passionate about the innovation of new ideas and continually strives to improve internal practices and maintain the highest standards.

Caroline Mukami

Quality Control Manager

Caroline Mukami is the Quality Control Manager at Vetcare Africa. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience with 9 years of experience as a quality control analyst in various fields of Pharmaceuticals in Kenya. She holds a diploma in analytical chemistry from Nairobi Institute of Business Studies.

She is an all-round, hardworking lady with a zeal to build her profession. In her role as QC Manager, she is responsible for ensuring all pharmaceutical products at Vetcare Africa meet the highest standards of quality.
