Wormitrex 1G Bolus is a broad-spectrum antihelmintic used in the control and treatment of gastrointestinal worms and lungworm infections in cattle, calves, sheep and goats. WORMITREX 1G Bolus is a rapid-acting broad-spectrum anthelmintic. Levamisole, the active ingredient, acts by first causing paralysis of the worms and afterwards the worms are expelled in the faeces. Levamisole also helps stimulate the immunity of the host animal by restoring cell-mediated immune functions and phagocytosis of the leucocytes. It is rapidly absorbed after oral administration from GIT, metabolised to a great extent with only a tiny percentage being excreted unchanged.
INDICATIONS
WORMITREX 1G Bolus is indicated for the treatment of nematode infections in cattle, calves, sheep, goats, and pigs; It is effective against several genera of roundworms and lungworms eg. Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Ostertagia, Ascaridae, Trichuris, Chabertia, Strongyloides, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Bunostomum, Oesophagostomum,Protostrongylus Metastrongylus, Dictyocaulus etc. Levamisole is also used as a microfilaricide in dogs to treat Dirofilaria immitis (heartworm) infection
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
For oral administration only. Wormitrex 1g Bolus is administered orally either directly by hand or by means of a bolus (balling) gun. It can also be given after crushing the boli dose and mixing with a little water to make a drench or mixing with a little feed.
DOSAGE
7.5 mg Levamisole HCl per kg body weight or 1 bolus per 133 kg body weight. Do not exceed the stated dose.
WITHDRAWAL PERIODS
- For meat: 14 days,
- For milk: 1 day
STORAGE
Store below 30 C in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach of children.

Wash hands after administering the treatment. Keep the drug out of reach of children.
