Colistin is effective against a number of gram negative bacteria; Enterobacter areogenes, E.coli, Salmonella spp, Klebsiella spp, Shighela spp, Haemophillus spp, Proteus spp, Pasteurella spp, Vibrio spp and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
