Tylosin tartrate is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus, B. Haemolytic streptococcus, non-haemolytic streptococcus, Brucella, Pastteurella, clostridia, klebsiella, Haemophylu, Corynebacterium, E.Coli and Salmonella) Mycoplasma, Spirochetosis and actinomycces. Also active against Rickettsia.

Tylosin tartrate is an antibiotic of macrolide group and highly effective against gram-negative both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, Mycoplasma. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding 50s ribosomol subunit. It is a bacteriostatic antibiotic.
